Actions and Usage
How Morph Usage Is Measured
Morph plans are based on how many successful actions you use each month. Your monthly action allowance depends on the plan you signed up for through the Epos Now App Store.
The dashboard shows your current usage, refresh time, and the date your usage resets.
If you want a walkthrough of the Usage screen itself, including the summary card and charts, see How to Use the Usage Page.
In simple terms, usage is based on the update or delete actions Morph successfully completes.
Fetching Data
Morph fetches data before it applies filters and creates actions.
Fetching data is included and does not count toward your action allowance.
Filtering
Filtering the data is included and does not count toward your action allowance.
Actions
Update and Delete Morphs
For update and delete morphs, each successful action on a matching record counts as 1 action toward your monthly allowance.
That means:
- Morph fetches the data
- Morph applies your filters
- Morph takes action only on the records that pass the filters
- each record successfully updated or deleted counts as
1action
If a record has multiple field updates in the same morph, that still counts as 1 successful action for that record when the final action succeeds.
Example: Updating Products
Let’s say you have a morph to update product cost and selling prices.
- you have
100products in Epos Now 25products pass the filters on your morph- Morph updates those
25products
In this example, the action usage would be:
25actions for the25products that were successfully updated
That is 1 action per product updated.
Runs
Morph plans can also include a monthly app run allowance.
Each successful morph run counts as 1 app run toward your monthly run allowance.
Scheduled morphs, manual runs, and reruns each count separately when they complete successfully.
Do Failed Actions or Runs Count?
Failed updates and deletes do not count as successful actions.
Failed or incomplete runs do not count as successful app runs.
Do Simulations Count?
No. Simulated runs are for testing and previewing your morph setup. They do not count toward your billed action or run usage.
Simulation and preview can still be used to estimate how many actions a live run is likely to complete before activation.
What Happens When I Reach My Plan Limit?
Morph can notify you by email when you are approaching your action or run limit.
Once you hit a limit, Morph stops processing further actions or runs until your usage resets or you upgrade your plan.
You can also set usage notification thresholds in the dashboard.
If this happens during a run, you will see that reflected in the Runs page so it is clear why the morph stopped.
When Does Usage Reset?
Your usage resets on the billing day for your Morph app in the Epos Now App Store.
Do Unused Actions or Runs Roll Over?
No. Unused actions and runs do not roll over into the next billing period.
Can I Upgrade or Downgrade?
Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade through the Epos Now App Store. Upgrades are pro-rated and downgrades take effect from the next billing date.
Where Was My Usage Used?
To see where your actions and runs were used, take a look at the Runs page.
This shows the usage for each run, and you can then open the logs for the matching run to review what happened during that run.
