Customer sync error messages

This page lists the main messages you may see with customer sync.

Not all of these are hard errors. Some are informational messages that explain why a customer update was skipped or marked as processed.

Epos Now -> WooCommerce

These messages are most relevant on the dedicated Customers Queue.

Customer type sync

These messages are most relevant when customer type data is being updated.

WooCommerce -> Epos Now customer matching during order sync

There is not a separate WooCommerce customer queue in the same way. WooCommerce customer creation/linking normally happens during order sync.

These customer-related messages may therefore appear as part of an order sync issue:

MessageWhat it meansWhat to do
We could not auto-link the customer as there is more than one customer in EposNow with the same email address.We found multiple Epos Now customers with the same email address, so we could not safely pick one during order sync.Fix the duplicate Epos Now customer records or contact support.
Customer Id Not Matched with EPOSNOWThe order could not match or create the customer in Epos Now.Check the customer data on the order and the order queue comment.
Product Id and Customer Id Not Matched with EPOSNOWThe order has both customer-linking issues and product-linking issues.Check both the customer data and the product links.

What to do if you are unsure

If you are not sure what a message means:

  1. Check whether the issue is on the Customers Queue or the Orders Queue
  2. Check the queue Comment
  3. Check the order/customer linkage involved
