Customer sync error messages
This page lists the main messages you may see with customer sync.
Not all of these are hard errors. Some are informational messages that explain why a customer update was skipped or marked as processed.
Epos Now -> WooCommerce
These messages are most relevant on the dedicated Customers Queue.
| Message | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
Customer sync is not enabled | Customer sync is disabled on the account, so the customer update was not processed. | Enable customer sync if you want customer updates to sync. |
Customer is not linked | The Epos Now customer is not linked to a WooCommerce customer. | Link the customer first if you expect loyalty/customer updates to sync to WooCommerce. |
Customer Endpoint Point call api failed | The worker tried to fetch the latest customer details from Epos Now and that API call failed. | Retry later or contact support if it continues. |
WooCommerce customer not updated | The customer update reached WooCommerce, but WooCommerce did not accept the update. | Check the website / WooCommerce API and contact support if it continues. |
Successfully Updated | The customer update synced successfully. | No action needed. |
Customer type sync
These messages are most relevant when customer type data is being updated.
| Message | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
Customer sync is not enabled | Customer type processing was skipped because customer sync is not enabled for the account. | Enable customer sync if customer type updates should be processed. |
Successfully Updated | The customer type data was updated successfully. | No action needed. |
{response from customer type update/delete} | The customer type add/update/delete request returned an error, and that response was written into the queue comment. | Check the queue comment and contact support if the cause is unclear. |
WooCommerce -> Epos Now customer matching during order sync
There is not a separate WooCommerce customer queue in the same way. WooCommerce customer creation/linking normally happens during order sync.
These customer-related messages may therefore appear as part of an order sync issue:
| Message | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
We could not auto-link the customer as there is more than one customer in EposNow with the same email address. | We found multiple Epos Now customers with the same email address, so we could not safely pick one during order sync. | Fix the duplicate Epos Now customer records or contact support. |
Customer Id Not Matched with EPOSNOW | The order could not match or create the customer in Epos Now. | Check the customer data on the order and the order queue comment. |
Product Id and Customer Id Not Matched with EPOSNOW | The order has both customer-linking issues and product-linking issues. | Check both the customer data and the product links. |
