Setting the Epos Now supplier for WooCommerce products

The Epos Now WooCommerce Integration does not synchronise the list of suppliers between WooCommerce and Epos Now.

However, when WooCommerce is the master for products, you can tell the integration which existing Epos Now supplier should be assigned to a product by providing the Epos Now Supplier ID in WooCommerce.

How supplier mapping works

Each supplier in Epos Now has its own numeric ID.

For example:

Epos Now SupplierSupplier ID
Acme Supplies123
Example Wholesale456
Sample Supplier789

If a WooCommerce product has an Epos Now Supplier ID of 123, the integration can use that ID when creating or updating the product in Epos Now.

The product will therefore be assigned to the existing Epos Now supplier with ID 123.

The integration does not create or synchronise the supplier itself.

Finding your Epos Now Supplier IDs

You can download a CSV containing your Epos Now suppliers and their IDs from the Utilities page in the Slynk dashboard.

Under Download Data, select Download EN suppliers list. The CSV will contain the suppliers in your Epos Now account together with their numeric IDs.

You can then use this as a lookup when assigning suppliers to products in WooCommerce.

Setting the Supplier ID in WooCommerce

When product sync is enabled, Slynk adds additional Epos Now fields to WooCommerce products.

By default, you can enter the numeric Epos Now Supplier ID into the Supplier ID field provided by the integration.

For more information about where these fields appear, see Custom fields for Epos Now data on WooCommerce.

The standard WooCommerce meta field used by the integration for the Supplier ID is:

sln_epn_supplier_id

You can find this and the other standard fields used by the integration in WooCommerce Meta Fields.

Using your own WooCommerce supplier fields

You do not have to use Slynk's standard Supplier ID field.

If your website already uses a supplier plugin, taxonomy or custom field, your developer can store the corresponding Epos Now Supplier ID in a meta field of your choice.

For example, your developer could create a dropdown showing the supplier names while storing the corresponding numeric Epos Now Supplier ID.

The important part is that the value available to the integration is the numeric Epos Now Supplier ID, rather than just the supplier name.

If you would like to use your own meta field, let us know the meta key and we can adjust your product mapping to use it as the Epos Now Supplier ID.

This allows you to integrate the Epos Now supplier mapping into your existing WooCommerce setup rather than having to use Slynk's standard field.

Summary

The integration does not synchronise the suppliers themselves between Epos Now and WooCommerce. Instead, it needs the numeric ID of the existing Epos Now supplier when synchronising a product.

You can either use Slynk's standard Supplier ID field or store the ID in your own WooCommerce meta field and ask us to map it.

Epos Now supplier → Supplier ID → WooCommerce → Product sync → Existing Epos Now supplier
