Setting the Epos Now brand for WooCommerce products

The Epos Now WooCommerce Integration does not synchronise the list of brands between WooCommerce and Epos Now.

However, when WooCommerce is the master for products, you can tell the integration which existing Epos Now brand should be assigned to a product by providing the Epos Now Brand ID in WooCommerce.

How brand mapping works

Each brand in Epos Now has its own numeric ID.

For example:

Epos Now BrandBrand ID
Nike123
Adidas456
Puma789

If a WooCommerce product has an Epos Now Brand ID of 123, the integration can use that ID when creating or updating the product in Epos Now.

The product will therefore be assigned to the existing Epos Now brand with ID 123.

The integration does not create or synchronise the brand itself.

Finding your Epos Now Brand IDs

You can download a CSV containing your Epos Now brands and their IDs from the Utilities page in the Slynk dashboard.

Under Download Data, select Download EN brands list. The CSV will contain the brands in your Epos Now account together with their numeric IDs.

You can then use this as a lookup when assigning brands to products in WooCommerce.

Setting the Brand ID in WooCommerce

When product sync is enabled, Slynk adds additional Epos Now fields to WooCommerce products.

By default, you can enter the numeric Epos Now Brand ID into the Brand ID field provided by the integration.

For more information about where these fields appear, see Custom fields for Epos Now data on WooCommerce.

The standard WooCommerce meta field used by the integration for the Brand ID is:

sln_epn_brand_id

You can find this and the other standard fields used by the integration in WooCommerce Meta Fields.

Using your own WooCommerce brand fields

You do not have to use Slynk's standard Brand ID field.

If your website already uses a brand plugin, taxonomy or custom field, your developer can store the corresponding Epos Now Brand ID in a meta field of your choice.

For example, your developer could create a dropdown showing the brand names while storing the corresponding numeric Epos Now Brand ID.

The important part is that the value available to the integration is the numeric Epos Now Brand ID, rather than just the brand name.

If you would like to use your own meta field, let us know the meta key and we can adjust your product mapping to use it as the Epos Now Brand ID.

This allows you to integrate the Epos Now brand mapping into your existing WooCommerce setup rather than having to use Slynk's standard field.

Summary

The integration does not synchronise the brands themselves between Epos Now and WooCommerce. Instead, it needs the numeric ID of the existing Epos Now brand when synchronising a product.

You can either use Slynk's standard Brand ID field or store the ID in your own WooCommerce meta field and ask us to map it.

Epos Now brand → Brand ID → WooCommerce → Product sync → Existing Epos Now brand
