FAQs

What Is Flow?

Flow is Slynk's automation app. A flow usually fetches data, filters it, and then updates that data or exports the matching results.

How Do I Create a Flow?

Every flow starts from a template. You choose either a base template or a solution, review the settings, then simulate and activate the flow when you are ready.

What Is the Difference Between a Base Template and a Solution?

A base template is the more blank starting point for a data type. A solution is more pre-configured for a particular goal.

Do I Need Technical Skills to Use Flow?

No, but you do need to understand the outcome you want. Flow is designed so you can build automations through the dashboard without writing code.

Can You Help Me Set Flow Up?

Yes. We offer onboarding help and can review flows with you if you want a second check before they go live.

How Does Sign-Up Work?

You install Flow through the Epos Now App Store. After that, you receive a welcome email with your dashboard access details, or guidance to reset your password if you already have a Slynk account.

Do unused tasks roll over?

No. Unused tasks do not roll over into the next billing period.

What Is a Task?

A task is part of the work done by a flow run and you can find out more in our introduction to tasks article.

Do Failed Tasks Count Towards My Usage?

No. Only successful tasks count towards your usage.

Do Simulated Runs Count Towards My Usage?

No. Simulations are for testing and previewing a flow before it is activated, and they do not count towards billed task usage.

What Happens When I Reach My Task Limit?

Flow can notify you by email as you approach your task limit. Once you hit the limit, further tasks stop processing until your usage resets or you upgrade your plan.

If this happens during a run, you can see it in the Runs page status information.

What Happens If Epos Now API Limits Are Reached?

Flow can automatically retry when Epos Now API or quota limits are reached, and the run details show the retry timing in the status information.

When Does My Usage Reset?

Your usage resets on the billing day for your Flow app on the Epos Now App Store.

Can I Upgrade or Downgrade?

Yes. You can do that through the Epos Now App Store. Upgrades are pro-rated and downgrades take effect from the next billing date.

Can I Use My Own FTP or SFTP Server?

Yes. Export flows can upload files to your own FTP or SFTP connection after you add that connection in Flow.

Will There Be Any Downtime While Flow Is Set Up?

No. There is no downtime required for Flow setup.

Which Currency Will I Be Billed In?

Billing is handled by the Epos Now App Store, which supports major currencies. The sign-up flow shows you the equivalent price in your local currency.

What Is Your Cancellation Policy?

Flow is billed month to month. You can cancel at any time by uninstalling the app from the Epos Now App Store.

Who Handles Support?

Slynk handles Flow support directly.

What Are Your Support Hours?

Support is provided in normal UK working hours, 9am to 5pm, excluding bank and public holidays.

How Do You Handle Updates on Epos Now?

We keep track of Epos Now updates and apply any required changes to our integration services on our side.
