Customer sync

info

Only available with Epos Now as stock master

Our integration can sync customer data from WooCommerce to Epos Now.

This is triggered when a customer places an order on WooCommerce.

Customer sync is not a full customer master sync between both platforms. The main customer create and link process happens when WooCommerce orders are sent to Epos Now.

How It Works

The flow is as follows:

Good to know

Default Sync Customer

The default sync customer is mainly used for guest orders, where there is no WooCommerce customer account to link.

Email Addresses

Epos Now allows multiple customers to have the same email address but WooCommerce does not.

When the integration comes across this scenario and cannot determine which Epos Now customer to link to, it will notify you to link the correct customer.

Guest Orders

A guest order on WooCommerce is an order where the customer did not log in to place the order on your website. You can see this by opening the order in WooCommerce and it will tell you if it is a guest order.

Guest orders will not sync the customer details entered in the billing/shipping address to Epos Now as there is no matching customer in the WooCommerce database.

Instead, the order will sync against your default sync customer on Epos Now.

Loyalty Points

If you use the Epos Now Loyalty App and customer sync is enabled, customers can still earn points on WooCommerce orders when those orders sync to Epos Now.

We can also sync the current Epos Now loyalty points balance back to WooCommerce for linked customers.
